The Book of Lies Volume III

To create The Book of Lies Volume III, 36 artists and poets from around the world were given the charge to make works of art that address the texture and nature of the “lie.” Most of the works of art, 30 in folios, are unique serial objects handmade by the artists and writers. The objects range from works on paper, books and postage stamps to small sculptures. The materials used in the works include steel, wood, fine art papers, carbon paper, linen, felt and embroidered denim.

The works of art are housed in a shark-gray cloth clamshell box that opens to reveal the cover poem, “True Dharma” by Southern California poet Michael Hannon. The poem is etched into torched and patinated brass, which lines the interior of the lid.
