Artist Sarah Peters draws upon short personal statements and factual texts to investigate the relationship between the way people interact as individuals and the way they interact as nation-states. The artist suggests that the dynamics in each type of relationship are not very different.
Spherical in form, the book opens to reveal six nested pages of text that the reader pulls apart to read. Materials used in the piece include cast paper made from cotton, abaca and flax fibers, and small pieces of Velcro to hold the largest sphere together. The text is set in the News Goth BT typeface and was letterpress printed. The book is housed in a clear hard plastic box with the title printed on one side.
